Rethinking Mobility (Urban Transport Policy) in Pakistan on Friday, 23rd October 2020 at 11:00 A.M.
Muhammad Rizwan -
a senior transport engineer in UAE will be presenting his recently published paper on urban transport policy in Pakistan. Muhammad Rizwan has worked in the Middle East region (UAE, KSA, and Qatar) and Pakistan in projects for urban transport planning, urban streets, public transport, pedestrianization, cycle-track, expressways/highways, and strategic storm drainage projects.
Dr. Noman Ahmed will act as a discussant. Dr. Noman Ahmed is an architect and planner by profession. He received training in urban planning and development from world renowned universities in Turkey, Japan, and USA. He has taught in the leading architecture and planning institutions in Karachi along with graduate research supervision in the same disciplines. He is currently working as Professor and Dean, Faculty of Architecture and Management Sciences at NED University. . He regularly writes on developmental issues in the leading newspapers in Pakistan including Dawn, The News, The Friday Times, and other publications since 1988. He has received many awards in recognition of his service. In 2020, he was awarded Tamgha-e-Imtiaz that shall be conferred on 23 March 2021 on occasion of Pakistan Day.
